Money is the necessary evil. It makes the world go around. We hear everything. Can’t buy happiness. Um, I don’t know, there’s a whole bunch of things about money. Um, money does become a topic at highway man science. Um, because takes that money to buy a sign also takes money to make a sign. So sometimes we have to talk about money. And it’s one of those things where if somebody asks you about budget, things like that, we’re not being rude or we’re not trying to take you for everything you’re worth. We’re not the type of people that would be like, Hey, so what’s your budget on this? Uh, I got $3,000. Well, a good thing we can come in at 2,995. What it is, is we we’re about the customer. I don’t want to waste your time and set expectations that we can’t, that can’t be met with a budget.

Um, you know, if your budget is, if your budget is, you know, $5,000, I want to get you the best deal that we can for $5,000. And so that’s one of the things that we like to do is we like to ask people, you know, Hey, so here’s what you’re telling me what you’re wanting. Um, go ahead and tell me your budget. That way I can get that over to our guys that work in the estimate department and, uh, make sure that we’re getting you an estimate that’s going to fit what your budget is. Um, nothing can be more discouraging than, you know, telling us what you’re looking for, but not knowing how much of a budget you have. Um, and, and then all of a sudden we have to, it’s like it, it shuts down the whole process. If we kind of know what your budget’s at, we can offer things to you that is going to make that work for your budget.

We want you to get assigned. We want you to get a product that you’re happy with. We want you to get the biggest bang for your buck. Um, and, you know, sometimes people want channel letters and want a sign that’s $13,000. Well, maybe that’s just not in the books, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a lighted sign for something else. Um, you know, we’ve done plenty of lighted signs that go on front of a building, um, with a standard, you know, shaped square or rectangle sign can with l e d lights in it and, uh, Alexa face. And, uh, we can, we can get that within their budget. Um, that’s one of the things that we like to do is just be open and transparent with us. Say, Hey, you know, I want to sign, I have a budget of $10,000. This is kind of what I’m hoping I can do.

Um, give us some examples of what you’re looking at and we’ll see what we can do for you. You know, it might be one of those things where you say, Hey, you know what? Um, I really can’t do, you know, the the 12, $13,000 channel letter sign. Um, but what could you do for a lighted sign? And we, we can say, Hey, you know, we could do a, a, uh, you know, a six by six, uh, can with, um, a L face, um, you know, goes on top of the, of your building there on the awning. Um, you know, we can do it for this amount of money. And, you know, you want that lighted sign. You want that sign that people are gonna see it all times, uh, day or night to attract the business. And yeah, it might not have been the, uh, channel letters or something like that that you were hoping for, but this right here is going to be just as good.

Um, I think you’re gonna really like what you get. I think you’re going to see that, you know, maybe it wasn’t the, uh, custom cut logo or something like that. It was something that was a little bit more simple. But people are gonna see that sign. They’re going to be able to see things going on. And I, I think you’d be really happy with it. So when you’re talking with, you know, your sales rep, things like that at Highway Band signs, just, just be honest with them. If they, you know, even if, and sometimes we forget to ask, uh, just tell us, say, Hey, you know, this is my budget, this is what I’m wanting to do. Can you get me something close to that? And we’ll see what we can do. Um, I mean, the worst that we can say is, you know, let’s take a cut.
