A lot of people use like a four by eight sheet of, um, aluminum or what we use a lot of times it’s, uh, ACM, which is an aluminum composite material. And what that is actually, it’s actually two sheets of thin aluminum sandwiched, uh, around a PVC cor, um, the whole thing’s about three
mil, four mils thick, um, which roughly around an eighth inch, three sixteens thick, um, of an inch. And it’s, what’s great about it. It doesn’t, it can’t rest a rock because it’s aluminum and PBC. Um,

Or if you want something a little fancier, obviously we can do a lighted sign. Um, and these range from th this kind of, this kind of has a several different sub categories on itself. Um, there’s what they call Cannes signs, which are your standard. Um, it’s basically a aluminum box, um, that has trim around it that has a, as some sort of plastic or flexible face installed into it. And the face is the, the part of the sign that you actually see that has the letters on it, has the logo on
it. Um, that’s the part that everybody looks at. Um, the cane is actually like the structure around the face, and this is what holds the electrical components, the light bulbs, the sockets, the ballasts, um, which kind of leads us to there’s different types of electrical components. Obviously there’s a classic like fluorescent bulbs and he’s right, great. They’ve worked for a long time. They’re there, they’re affordable. Um, but you do have to deal with changing light bulbs.
Um, and the problem with light bulbs are always, you can’t ever guarantee. Um, you know, they like to say at the box, you know, it lasts so many years or whatever like that, but weather and stuff can be a factor and everything we use is weather rated. It is made for outside. We don’t use any internal components. Uh, we use all external components, so they, they do last out in the weather. Speaker 1 (10:19): The, um, the other option is led of course, um, l ed is great. It is more expensive. Uh, it’s generally, you know, probably about 50 more, 50% more expensive than your classic, uh, fluorescent, but it does last a lot longer and is much, much brighter, um, than traditional fluorescent bulbs, um, which there are different grades of fluorescent bulbs. There are what they
call, um, uh, daylights, which is what we use in all of our assignments. It’s the, it’s the brightest widest, um, type of fluorescent bulb. And, uh, the other option is what they call it. Cool white, which is funny because compared to a daylight, it actually looks more yellow. Um, but a cool
white is, is also an option that people, uh, tend to use. We don’t use them. I don’t particularly like the look. Um, and I want a bright light when we install a new sign. I want it to be nice and bright and very well lit. Um, you know, as far as that is concerned, the, uh, kind of the next option, like I said, led, um, and they’re pretty well standard across the board, as far as brightness, things like that. Um, there are some different technical differences, um, but, uh, we use all principal led components. Um, they’re very, very common, uh, brand in the sign industry.
