Universal/Angle/Wedge (Old Signcomp Style)
This style is generally obsolete but we still find these occasionally. Generally angle is mounted and holes drilled every foot for the bolt to be inserted (See Fig2 on Page 2 of the PDF below.) As you can see, they sometimes come with an extra clip that hooks to a trim piece rather than be bolted in place.
Self Tapper Banner Style (no clips)
• Occasionally we will have a frame that does not have a clip system and we will install a flex face with grommets using self drilling screws similar to how we would mount a banner.
• Using screws starting at one of the top corners once the first screw is installed we will then go to the next grommet and put the screw in at an angle pointing away from the first screw so it pulls the banner towards the other side, pulling it tight. We will do these all the way across the top of the frame.
• Next we will start at the bottom in the center. The first screw will be angled down as to pull the face downward and stretch it tight. Then working out from the center you will do as we did at the top, angling the screw down and away from the center screw to pull the face down and out, pulling it tight.
• Once top and bottom are done, you will start the sides. Similar to the bottom, the first screw will be angled out as to pull the face away from the center and stretch it tight. Then working up (or down) from the center you will do as we did at the bottom, angling the screw out and away from the center screw to pull the face up or down and out, pulling it tight.
